Estes Park, Colorado Elopement

Anna and Chad’s intimate Colorado Elopement in Rocky Mountain National Park on a rainy day in August.

Chad and Anna only invited their immediate family to participate in their elopement day. They requested a small ceremony at a nearby Airbnb. Hosting the ceremony outside of the park avoids being restricted to the designated ceremony locations within Rocky Mountain National Park. It also means you do not have to purchase a Wedding Ceremony Permit which is required for ceremonies held within the park. (A photography permit is still required. Talk to your photographer about this and be sure they are qualified to obtain this)

We met up at their Airbnb right outside of Estes and started with mimosas while they each got ready for their big day. Chad’s father led officiated their ceremony in the backyard of the Airbnb.

After the ceremony, we took their jeep into Rocky Mountain National Park to go take bridal portraits. The park offers a variety of stunning backdrops for outdoor elopements, including snow-capped mountains, lush forests, and crystal-clear lakes.

It was a gloomy one in Rocky Mountain National Park that day. We were hoping to go up to Trail Ridge Road for some epic views, however visibility was so bad you couldn’t see the rocky mountains in the distance anyway.

We decided to go down to a lower elevation where visibility was better, then the rain kicked in. Instead of getting upset about the rain, Anna + Chad decided to embrace the moody Colorado weather. They danced around in the rain which resulted in some pretty epic photos if I do say so myself.
